Restaurants on the coast

Eating on the coast varies zone by zone. In El Tunco, it splits three ways. The strip running down to the beach carries most of the sit-down kitchens, and they keep tourist hours, open late, busiest Friday through Sunday when San Salvador drives out for the weekend. The comedores up by the highway turn are cheaper, cash-only more often than not, and close when the food runs out. Then there are the hotel restaurants, which will serve you whether or not you are staying.
