Medical on the coast

Medical care depends on the zone. El Tunco, for one, has no hospital. For anything routine, the pharmacies in town and the clinics in La Libertad, about fifteen minutes east, cover most of it, and Salvadoran pharmacies dispense a wider range over the counter than travellers usually expect.

For anything serious, San Salvador is under an hour by car and is where the private hospitals are. Worth knowing before you need it.
