Terms of Service

Last updated

SurfCity.sv is a directory for the El Salvador surf coast, operated by CORITO LABS, S.A.S. DE C.V. These terms cover what a listing on the site is, what claiming it means, what the paid tiers include, and how payment and renewal actually work. They apply to any business with a listing on SurfCity.sv, whether or not that business ever pays us anything.

Using the site as a visitor, or having a listing on it, means you accept these terms. If something here doesn't match how you understood things when you signed up, write to info@surfcity.sv before you rely on the difference.

Free listings

A free listing can exist on SurfCity.sv without the business ever having asked for it. Many were compiled from public sources — things like a business's name, category, hours and location that are already publicly available — to make the directory useful from day one. If your business has a free listing you never requested, that is expected, not a mistake.

A free listing carries your name, category and hours, a phone number and a map pin. It does not carry photos, a WhatsApp button or a website link — those are part of the paid tiers, described below. Any business can ask us to correct or remove a free listing at no cost, and corrections normally go live the same day.

Claiming a listing

Claiming is how a business takes ownership of its listing, free or paid. When you submit a claim, you are representing that you are authorised to act for that business — an owner, a manager, or someone the business has asked to handle this. An administrator reviews each claim using what you submit, but we do not independently verify that authorisation.

A claim we later find to be false, or one that is disputed by someone else with a real connection to the business, can be revoked. Revoking a claim returns the listing to its unclaimed state; it does not delete the listing itself.

Paid tiers

Two paid tiers sit above the free listing. Basic is $25/mo and adds up to 6 photos, a description in your own words, a WhatsApp button and a website link. Featured is $79/mo: a writer visits your business, takes notes and builds the page for you (you approve it before it goes live), in both Spanish and English, with up to 15 photos, a video, space for happy hour and specials, and placement first in your category with a Featured badge. A new Featured listing is normally live in 3 to 5 days.

Basic's first month is free. Beyond that introductory period, tiers renew as the periods described below — there is no free trial on Featured.

How payment works

Payment is arranged directly with us, by bank transfer or over WhatsApp, and recorded by an administrator once it's received. There is no card capture on SurfCity.sv, no payment gateway, and no online card processing anywhere on the site or in the claim or upgrade flow. If anything you encounter suggests otherwise, it isn't us — contact info@surfcity.sv.

Renewal and the 10-day grace period

A paid tier covers a period with a start date and an end date. When that end date passes and no renewal has been recorded, the listing keeps its paid tier through the 9th day after the end date — a grace period meant to absorb a late transfer or a slow WhatsApp reply, not an extension you need to ask for. If no renewal has been recorded by then, the listing reverts automatically to the free tier on the 10th day after the end date.

Nothing is deleted when a listing reverts to free. It keeps its page, its name, category, hours and map pin — the free-tier content described above. Photos, the WhatsApp button, the website link and any Featured-only content simply stop being shown until the tier is renewed.

Changes and cancellation

You can stop paying for a tier at any time; there is no cancellation fee. Doing so simply means the current period is not renewed, and the listing follows the grace-period rule above once that period ends. We may also change tier pricing or what a tier includes going forward — an already-paid period keeps what it was sold with.

Accuracy of listing information

We maintain this directory in good faith, but hours, prices, menus, availability and other details change — sometimes faster than we or a business owner can update them. Treat listing content, on any tier, as a starting point for finding a business, not a guarantee of what you'll find when you get there.

If you're a business owner and something on your listing is wrong, tell us — for a free listing that's a no-cost correction; for a claimed listing you can also update it yourself where the tools allow.

Our right to correct or remove listing content

We may correct, edit or remove any listing's content — on any tier — where it is inaccurate, unlawful, or belongs to a business that has closed. We'll generally try to reach a claimed listing's owner first, but we don't need permission to remove content that shouldn't be published, and a paid tier does not entitle a listing to content we've decided to take down.

No warranty

SurfCity.sv is provided as-is. We don't warrant that the directory is complete, current or error-free, or that any business listed will be open, available, or as described when you visit. Use it as one input among others, especially for anything time-sensitive.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, SurfCity.sv and CORITO LABS, S.A.S. DE C.V. are not liable for losses arising from reliance on listing content, from a listing's accuracy or inaccuracy, from a claim dispute, or from a tier lapsing under the grace-period rule above. This does not remove any protection the law says cannot be waived.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of El Salvador. SurfCity.sv is operated by CORITO LABS, S.A.S. DE C.V. For anything in these terms — a claim dispute, a billing question, a correction request — write to info@surfcity.sv.
